Kevin Keegan and Mary Portas in Bridlington for Yorkshire International Business Convention
Ex-England football star Kevin Keegan and retail guru Mary Portas are due in Bridlington today for the Yorkshire International Business Convention.
They will be joined at the Spa by comedian Rory Bremner, politician turned TV presenter Michael Portillo and Olympic athlete Steve Cram.
The Yorkshire International Business Convention has been held in Bridlington since 2004, alongside a sister event which is usually held in Harrogate, but this year moved to Leeds. It was announced in April the annual business event would become a one venue affair from next year and would remain exclusively at the Spa, which is seen as a sign of the organisers' faith in Bridlington.
Portas, known as the Queen of Shops, led a government review into the state of Britain's high streets last year and recently awarded 12 flagging town centres around the country a share of government funding.
