He has represented Park ward, Grimsby for seven years as a Liberal Democrat councillor.

Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, Cllr Andrew De Freitas said: "Cllr Khan will not be seeking re-election in May due to the time required to develop his new business interests. There is every likelihood he will be working away from the Grimsby area."
