Konjaku Shin's fantastic five make the grade

FIVE members of the Konjaku Shin National School of Karate have gained their latest Kodomo Grades.

The Kodomo (children) system is unique to Konjaku Shin, and is designed to gradually introduce children from ages four to seven to the mainstream grading system.

Five-year-old Oscar Copp and six-year-old Hashan Nasseri both passed levels one, two and three, while Lacey Carlton, 6, also gained her level three grade.

The level four grade, meanwhile, was achieved by both five-year-old Robert Crompton and club-mate seven-year-old Chelsi Blakey.

The examination was conducted by chief instructor Dave Kershaw, 7th Dan.

The school, in Lower Spring Street, Grimsby, holds free taster sessions for children age four and up, every Sunday from 5pm to 6pm and Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm.

New members are always welcome, and all grades are transferrable.
