Ladies shine in rain
CONSTANT rain during Cleethorpes Golf Club's Lady President's Day didn't dampen the spirits of the 34 ladies who took part – with four golfers coming in with a net score of 74.
In first place, on exact handicap, was lady vice captain Margaret Quantrill, putting Alison Fletcher into second place, Sue Pearson third and Maureen Meadows in fourth.
Helen Austin finished nearest the pin on the 3rd, with Barbara Bayliss closest on the 11th. Mary Robinson won the nine-hole competition while Alison Fletcher was nearest the line on the 15th.
A field of 44 male seniors also played for the Memorial Cup.
