Law flouted blatantly

WELL, it's hunting season again and true to form, law or no law, it matters not to them, they were out in full form. Hounds, hunters, causing chaos, disrupting main road traffic and, I have no doubt, out to terrorise and kill foxes.

I wonder, are all laws so blatantly broken in front of so many witnesses and then so obviously ignored when reported?

I can't even begin to imagine what use a "crime number" is.

I'm sure every hunted animal in the land will breath a huge sigh of relief to know the law is looking after them so well. As usual it will be down to the League Against Cruel Sports, to actually do something.

We have brought several successful prosecutions and will continue to do so. However, it makes one ponder, if a handful of over-stretched charity volunteers can do it, why can't our law enforcers?

Perhaps the word is not so much can't, as won't. Is it still a case of not what you do, but who you are? Looks like it doesn't it?

“I would like to take this writer to task ove his claims of "several successful prosecutions". I was led to belive that the one prosecution they did manage got over turned on appeal!

Would he or she care to cite to which prosecutions he refers?

The trouble is that the LACS got what they wanted but we still hunt within the law. If the sight of people riding to hounds upsets these people so much iot begs the question as to the real motivation for their actions. Hunting will survive this temporary situation.

    Happy Hunting Everyone!”

“The LACS website has the following - 71% want thwe Hunting Ban enforced. 71% of how many - 10 people, 1m people, or all 65m people in the UK. Please supply the number of people you polled, and then we will see if the figures actually mean anything. In my household, 50% want the ban and 50% don't want the ban - mind, there are only 2 of us. Speaks volumes. You can massage figures for or aginst your argument all you want - give us the true figure.”

“I break the Hunting act on a regular basis and with the full knowledge of the police who allow me to do so.

Under the law it is illegal to flush out wild deer with dogs unless you shoot them.

I am completely against having to shoot the deer I flush out with my dogs and refuse to do so.

This is the most ignorant and absurd law on the statute book. Of course people should break it.”

“For one thing LACS Ltd is not a charity so how can they have charity volunteers ?

LACS Ltd got the law they deserved,,The Hunting Act is a muddled unenforceable, spiteful, class fixated, intolerant and very small minded piece of work.

The animal rights movement only bunged New Labour one million quid to get the ban - you buys cheap you gets cheap as they say.

The Act is a joke and was written by people who have no more idea about hunting and the countryside than I do about walking on the moon.

Blair and Brown have tried to ruin farming, concrete over the countryside close Post offices and gold plate every bit of EC regulation they can to spoil rural Britain but they will never stop us hunting - so build a bridge and get over it.”

“Perhaps your energy would be better used elsewhere. With all the crime committed aginst human beings I certainly know where I would like the police to be concentrating their efforts.”
