CatZero training and mentoring scheme looks set to help more into work
AN innovative training and mentoring scheme is making waves by expanding and creating new jobs.
CatZero is a 12-week course for people claiming Jobseekers' Allowance that includes sailing on a 72ft racing yacht, as well as gaining new qualifications.

The programme is launching three new courses based on the success of the first held in Grimsby and Immingham last year.
The CatZero team and former members of the programme put potential new staff recruits through their paces at Grimsby Boxing Academy, in Freeman Street.

South Bank programme manager Sean Cahill said: "We have two courses starting in Grimsby on January 23 and January 28, and another in Immingham beginning on January 30.
"We need new staff to help mentor all the extra people.
"CatZero is really going from strength to strength. We need four new staff to cope with the demand.
"We are looking for people who are positive, motivated and enthusiastic.
"CatZero gives people the opportunity to be successful by providing them with skills and helping them overcome any barriers that stop them from getting into employment."
Grimsby Boxing Academy is one of the many organisations involved in CatZero, helping young people build confidence skills.
Potential recruits were given scenarios they would face within the programme to see how they coped.
Robbie Elliott, 22, from South Killingholme, who went on the last course in Immingham, said: "It is a real confidence builder and it changed my life.
"I am now getting plenty of interviews for jobs which wasn't happening before I went on the programme."

YOU only get out of life what you put in!
Yes, there are the lucky Lottery millionaires who can possibly be excused from the above.
But for the majority that statement is true.
In Britain, we need to ensure that our young people realise that this is indeed the case.
And to do that, as a nation we need to ensure investment is made.
CatZero is relatively expensive and time consuming with dedicated workers putting a considerable amount of effort into a group of young people who may otherwise be left with little.
By doing so, they prove to these young people that they are worthy of their time – an investment that is worth it.
More of the same would surely bring even better results.
