RAF hopeful injured in attack
A CLEETHORPES man fears for his career in the Royal Air Force after suffering multiple injuries in an incident in the resort.
On Sunday, at around 1am, Lewis Tuffnell, 18, was walking along Brereton Avenue, close to his home address, when he says he witnessed an altercation between a man and a woman.
-

He and a friend escorted the woman away, but he says he was then the victim of an attack.
Mr Tuffnell was knocked unconscious after allegedly being punched and kicked in the face, leaving him lying in a pool of his own blood.
He suffered a broken nose, a broken collarbone, a broken cheekbone, black eyes, chipped teeth and severe swelling to the face.
His dad, Paul, 40, said: "This was a nasty assault, a despicable incident.
"I think my son was extremely brave and did not deserve what he got.
"His injuries may result in further problems for a bright lad who is about to take his A-levels and hoped to have a career within the Royal Air Force.
"He was taken to Grimsby's Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital, and had to be readmitted to have a metal pin in his shoulder.
"He has completed his first exams to go in the RAF, possibly as a pilot, so we are hoping his shoulder will be fine."
Nathan Clark, 20, of Bentley Street, Cleethorpes, appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court, on Monday.
He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of assault by beating.
Meanwhile, three more people have been arrested in connection with an assault in the car park behind Flares and Reflex on Sunday.
As reported, Gavin Rogers, 25, suffered serious head injuries and remains in a critical condition after an attack at about 1.30am.
Three men have been arrested in relation to the incident. Two are aged 28 and one is aged 31.
Four men initially arrested, aged 24, 25, 39 and 44, remain on police bail pending further inquiries.
