Life of Cleethorpes' former Miss UK Della Draper to feature in documentary
THE adventurous life of Cleethorpes' former Miss UK, Della Draper, will be featured on a TV documentary.
Della – then Dolan – who won the prestigious award in 1982, and was runner-up in Miss World 1983 – will be featured on Wonderland – I Was Once A Beauty Queen – tonight.
The programme features Della with her two children, husband and pet dog in Switzerland, where she stayed in January to support her youngest daughter Holly, who is a qualified ski instructor there.
It shows how winning the title changed her life.

After she won Miss UK, she bought local clothes business Hobo, which was based in Freshney Place and then moved to Abbeygate, in Grimsby.
Following in her footsteps, daughter Danielle Draper has recently opened up a jewellery workshop at Meridian Park craft centre.
Della, 50, told the Grimsby Telegraph: "I am really excited and nervous about watching the programme because I haven't seen it myself yet.
"I wasn't the typical beauty queen; I was sporty and more natural looking rather than being dolled up.
"I think this difference is what gained me the title."
The programme is produced by Bafta-nominated documentary maker Hannah Berryman, who contacted Della in January, explaining that she would like to film her.
Della added: "Hannah explained that she wanted to feature beauty queens from different years and I think I'm the youngest one featured.
"She wanted to find out how it has affected our lives and what we have been up to since.
"I have been on many adventures such as a survival-of-the-fittest endurance challenge across 2,000 icy miles in northern Canada during 2002."
Adventurous Della also took part in a 180km bike ride in the Crocker Mountain Range in Borneo for the Children Today Charity and she raised £5,000.
The Former Tollbar School pupil was also picked to do the Fulda Challenge in Dawson City, Canada, where she raced to reach the Arctic Circle.
She added: "The producer delves into my adventurous life and what I had done in the past as well as present.
"There will be clips of me and all of my family skiing in Verbier, the Swiss Alps, and the producer was a fantastic interviewer and made us all feel very comfortable."
Wonderland – I Was Once A Beauty Queen – airs at 9pm tonight on BBC2.
