Doppelgangers: Thin Lizzy tribute act Twin Lizzy are appearing at the Yardbirds Rock Club on Saturday, January 14.
Twin Lizzy have been going since 1996 and they will be playing a two hour set of classics such as Jailbreak, The Boys Are Back In Town, Whiskey In The Jar and Emerald.
The band is made up of Taff on guitar and vocals, Steve also on guitar and vocals, Dave playing the drums and H on bass and lead vocals.
Taff, a founder member of Twin Lizzy, played in a number of Sheffield-based bands before forming Easy Streets with John Bownes, Paul Fletcher and Roger Clayton. Soon after, they changed their name to Twin Lizzy.
He said: "We are really passionate about our tribute to Thin Lizzy.
"We have been to Yardbirds several times and it is always good fun.
"People can tell when we perform on stage that we are truly into it.
"The secret of our success over so many years is to study Thin Lizzy closely and I have met the original line-up.
"Our band is from all over the country and it brings in different ideas for our tribute.
"We can't wait to get to Grimsby!"
H is the most recent recruit to the line-up.
Before joining Twin Lizzy he played with Midlands-based tribute band Dizzy Lizzy for some years and is thought to be among the best Phil Lynott tributes around right now.
He does the entire look, as well as the sound, and is a great showman.
Dave started playing drums when he was 13 years old.
After playing in a few local bands and not really getting anywhere, he joined The Pete Wadeson Band and recorded the track The Thrill Of The Chase for the album Metal For Muthas 92 – which was a Japanese release only.
Dave joined the band Shadow Keep in 2000, recording the album Corruption Within. The band played mostly in London but also gigged in Europe supporting Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford.
Get along
The tribute takes place on Saturday, January 14, and doors open at 7pm. Entry costs £4.
