Local jokers share their gags ahead of Jimmy Carr show in Grimsby (Video)
THE Grimsby Telegraph were officially uninvited to Jimmy Carr’s show on Friday – but the crowd were entertaining enough for us.
The famous Carr (as in the one with the side-parting, not the camp one) played at a sell-out gig at Grimsby Auditorium on Friday night.

Jimmy Carr performed at the Grimsby Auditorium on Friday evening.
Unfortunately, the dry comedian, who made headlines for his tax-dodging antics earlier in the year, wouldn’t grant the Grimsby Telegraph an interview and refused an offer of a review.

Danni Compton, 22, from Broughton, Jonny Welch, 27, and Jeff Storey, 27, also from Broughton, Catherine Lockett, 32, of Grimsby, Gemma Blythin, 27, of New Waltham, and Matthew Chapman, 35, of Market Rasen tell a few jokes before the Jimmy Carr show at Grimsby Auditorium
However, we made our own fun and went to the Auditorium anyway to ask the crowd if they had any jokes to cheer up our reporter James Dunn, who was most disappointed to hear he had been uninvited to the gig.
And if you’re ever short of gags Mr Carr (either of you), the local jokers said your perfectly welcome to borrow their material.
By far the cheesiest joke of them all was from Gemma Blythin, 27, of Waltham.
