VOTE: Long wait for grades is over as students celebrate a set of 'best-ever' results
STUDENTS from across North East Lincolnshire were opening their anxiously-awaited A-level results today.
And staff and students at Franklin College and Caistor Grammar School were celebrating their best-ever sets of results.
Meanwhile, at King Edward VI Grammar in Louth 31 per cent of results were at A* or A grades, and 100 per cent of pupils have achieved grades A to E in all of their subjects.
Head teacher James Lascelles said: "This is a solid set of results and a real testament to the work put in by the pupils and staff at King Edward's."
At the Grimsby Institute Of Further and Higher Education, pupils enjoyed a glass of Champagne before opening their life-changing results.
Hoping to receive two grade Bs and one grade C to allow him to study psychology at Nottingham Trent University, was 24-year-old Joe Branch, of Grimsby.
Joe, who took A-levels in business studies, psychology and sociology, said: "When I left school I went to work in factories before I injured my wrist and decided I should take the opportunity to come back to college.
"I haven't found my A-levels too hard so I'm hoping to get at least one A grade.
"I'm feeling nervous though – I can't wait for a big night out to celebrate."

“If all these kids are getting such better grades year on year, how come none of them can spell, cant do a job properly are lazy and ignorant?
I mean if you look the the pass % and the average grades they should all be rocket scientists, right?”

“same as last year always' best results ever' my son passed which is good but if he had not as much cover teachers he would have done better, teachers telling him he was doing brill , same as last year and he got a grade lower than expected still chuffed with him but in all i think the teaching here in Grimsby is overall poor. students have said as much.”

“"I haven't found my A-levels too hard"
I guess not and neither has anyone else!!
Results getting better year on year. It seems that the hard work of the staff and students is now just being laughed at as the exams are getting easier. Make the exams harder and people will understand the abilities of the students.”
