Work Experience
Freelance Designer, September 2008-present: I worked as a freelance designer creating print and identity projects for a variety of clients from local artists to small businesses. During this time I also lectured at Grimsby Institute demonstrating creative features of the Adobe CS3 design software to art and design students. I was chosen to represent Grimsby Institute in the Yorkshire Digital Awards.
Creative Designer, North East Lincolnshire Council, October 2007-May 2008.
I worked closely with clients from the North East Lincolnshire Council to design the corporate identity along with marketing and promotional materials for the Greater Grimsby Renaissance Project. I advised clients on design-related subjects and followed projects from initial brief through to final completion. I was actively involved as a member of the Renaissance committee helping to improve the Greater Grimsby area. I also contributed to the design and development of the Renaissance Project shop and Renaissance website.
Trainee Graphic Designer, Central Services, Grimsby Institute, March 2007-April 2007.
I worked alongside the in-house graphic designers at Grimsby Institute as part of my degree course. I used desktop publishing software to create a wide variety of print-based work for use within the Institute. I established myself as a good team member and made friends with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Other responsibilities included investigating any customer concerns regarding product, creating inspection plans to ensure operators can deliver a quality product, maintaining quality related archives and the internal auditing of the quality system.

Responsible for final inspection of finished product (telecommunications subduct) and all relevant paperwork, product testing following customer or self imposed sampling plans, goods inward inspection and calibration of measuring equipment. Working in the Process Development and Non-Routine Analysis Laboratory, responsibilities included the testing of new imported materials, blending trials, checking on Process plant performance, stack emissions testing and involvement in the setting up of various pilot plant operations.
