Lorry carrying 20-ton load in crash with a car (update)

A MAIN road was closed for several hours after a car was in collision with a lorry carrying a 20-ton load of straw.

The incident happened at about 1.20pm yesterday on the A18 Barton Street between the turn-offs to North Thoresby and Grainsby.

The two people in the grey Ford Mondeo were a 40-year-old man and his 15-year-old daughter, from the Louth area. The driver of the white Scania flat lorry was from the Doncaster area.

It is understood that no one was hurt.

    “20+ ton v 3/4 ton. Doesn't bode well for the car does it. Kids should bear this in mind when playing chicken. 3/4 ton v there puny 6-7 stone.”
