Louth's Brindle helps England cricket team to win
ARRAN Brindle helped England to an excellent victory against hosts India in the Women's Cricket World Cup today.
The Louth all-rounder finished unbeaten on 37 as England set a target of 272 for eight in Mumbai.
Captain Charlotte Edwards struck 109 and, in doing so, became the highest run-scorer in women's one-day internationals.
Although Harmanpreet Kaur knocked an unbeaten century of 107, India finished 32 runs short on 240 for nine after 50 overs.
