A MAN has been arrested for drink driving after leaving the scene of an accident in which he was the only person involved.

The 46-year-old, from Limber, was travelling on a yellow Honda motorbike on the A18 from Keelby to Limber, when he left the road.

The incident happened at around 12.30am today.

Lincolnshire Police closed the road – the B1211 – for around six hours while they recovered the bike.

The man had fled the scene, but was later arrested for providing a positive breath test.

A police spokesperson said that the injuries he suffered were "not serious or life threatening" and he wasn’t taken to hospital.

“why did it take 6 hours to "recover the bike" and did the road really need to be closed causing inconvenience other road users?”
