Mansfield vs Grimsby: Mansfield keep on motoring
Goals from Matt Rhead and Adam Chapman saw Mansfield extend their winning streak to nine matches with a 2-0 triumph over Grimsby.
Ross Hannah had a decent opportunity to give the Mariners a 13th-minute lead but shot over from close range.
Alan Marriott parried clear a Hannah effort from further afield moments later, allowing the Stags to break down field and see Colin Daniel's headed effort from Chapman's cross force a fine save from visiting goalkeeper James McKeown.
Grimsby striker Andy Cook headed over from Jamie Devitt's corner and the game remained goalless at the interval.

Substitute Rhead broke the deadlock after the hour, rising at the back post to nod home James Jennings' right-wing corner.
Marriott did well to deny Grimsby's Tom Naylor before Chapman spectacularly rifled into the top corner from 25 yards to seal the points.

“I totally agree with gy82a the management and fans believe a draw is a good result yet it is two points lost! simple maths and you cannot go up with draws , its good to say we haven't lost but in fact we have! ten draws equals 20 points lost ok wrexham have drawn more but they have also won more and take their chances when we just seem content. heads dropped last night as soon as they scored , we simply accepted we had lost with 26 minutes to play. the long hoof ball kicked in and we just wanted to get on the bus home!”

“once again the Mariners seem to be cinching failure from the jaws of victory! like the early eighties clear at the top of div 2 then nowhere! play with heads down when you go 1 behind like last night and its conference forever. we have to be realistic , the likes of mansfield , kidderminster and co. go out to win, we go out to try fancy footwork , get spectacular goals and it simply doesn't work! come close season when you have all been to wembley and reminiscing of what could have been, think of the weakened team at braintree where the decline started because we saved our best for dartford and a worthless cup that will stand proud in a champions cabinet.....in Wales.”
