FANS of bestselling saga-writer Margaret Dickinson flocked to Grimsby on Saturday to pick up a signed copy of her latest novel.

As reported, Sons and Daughters tells the story of Charlotte, an only child whose domineering father cannot forgive her for not being the son he wanted to take over his farm.

Like most of Margaret's 25 novels, it is set in Lincolnshire, where the 67-year-old author was born, raised, and lives today.

Gainsborough-born Margaret, who signed copies the book at WH Smith and Waterstones in Freshney Place, said her writing is "inspired" by the people, the history and the landscape of the county.

"If you look all over Lincolnshire there are wonderful stories."

Sons and Daughters is available from bookshops priced £5.99. For more information visit www.margaret- dickinson.co.uk.
