Marsh clinch deserved Sunday silverware

WEST MARSH clinched the Grimsby, Cleethorpes & District Sunday League Junior Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory against Oak Tree.

Held at Bradley Community Stadium on Wednesday, more than 200 supporters gathered in the cold to witness a fitting finale to the competition.

Eventual champions Marsh started brightly, scoring three goals inside 11 minutes to take control of the contest.

Ian Taylor opened the scoring, with goals from Nathan Cross and Jamie Webster making it 3-0.

Oak Tree fought their way back when Jamie Dixon netted after 70 minutes, but Marsh held firm to take a deserved title.
