Pictures have been leaked of the new Aprilia Caponord 1200.

The bike, yet to be officially unveiled, was shown at a closed dealer meeting in Monte Carlo recently. It's based on the current Dorsoduro 1200, and while it's pitched into the adventure bike sector, it appears to be aimed more at the Ducati Multistrada end of the spectrum rather than the BMW GS. This could mean the inclusion of high end electronics such as the advanced traction control system fitted to the RSV-4 APRC SE superbike. The styling is very much in the current Aprilia mould, including a triple headlight arrangement at the front.

Basing the bike on the Dorsoduro opens up the possibility of a 750cc version also being produced to rival the Triumph Tiger 800 and BMW F800GS.
