Motor vehicle students giving teachers' cars a winter check-up
MOTOR vehicle students at the Oasis Academy Immingham have been giving their teachers' cars the once over to make sure they're ready for winter.
Year 11 students, on the Level One motor vehicle studies course, have been carrying out winter inspections on the vehicles in the academy's motor workshop.

One of the cars was found to have illegal tread on three of its tyres, while another had brake lights that were stuck permanently on.
Both had to be taken to a professional garage to have their problems fixed.

The students are carrying out visual inspections, checking tyre depth and pressures, oil levels, lights and windscreen wipers.
Motor vehicle instructor Jason Gilliot said that as well as providing a timely reminder about the need for drivers to ensure their vehicles are prepared for winter, the checks also gave students a valuable opportunity to get under the skin of a range of different motor vehicles.
