THE mum of a young cerebral palsy sufferer is launching an appeal to raise money to buy her daughter a motorised wheelchair.

Ellie Rust, 10, of Keelby, cannot stand unaided, can only walk very slowly with the aid of a stick, and can wheel only very short distances in her manual wheelchair.

So her mum, Jo, 42, is trying to raise £5,000 to buy a powered wheelchair which will give her more independence and a better quality of life.

She will also be able to get more involved in the sports that she loves.

A host of fundraising events have been organised.

For information on how you can help and more about Ellie, see today's Grimsby Telegraph.
