NELC must cut a further £8m from its budget over next three years
NORTH East Lincolnshire Council will have to cut a further £8-million from its budget over the next three years – including £5-million in 2013/14.
Council bosses made the announcement this afternoon after studying the implications of the authority’s financial settlement from central government.
Although the block grant the council receives will be reduced by 2 per cent in 2013/14, council leader Chris Shaw said that when cuts to other grants were taken into account, the reduction amounts to 5.2 per cent overall.
It brings the total savings the council needs to make over the five years to 2015/16 to £58-million.
