Nathan Pond poised for final Grimsby Town appearance
NATHAN Pond is set to make his last appearance for Grimsby Town this weekend.
It will bring to an end a hugely successful loan spell for the centre-half, who will return to Fleetwood Town after the Mariners’ clash with Hereford on Saturday.

IMPACT: Nathan Pond, whose loan deal expires this weekend.
The 27-year-old signed on the eve of the season opener against Southport and has gone on to become a mainstay in a back four that boasts the best defensive record in the league.
The form he has shown during his time in Cleethorpes – combined with the arrival of new Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander – could mean more opportunities at League Two club for the towering defender.

And joint boss Paul Hurst admits the Mariners will have to ‘wait and see’ whether there is any chance of bringing him back to Blundell Park.
“Nathan will play his last game on Saturday and after that he’ll be going back to Fleetwood unless they suddenly change their minds,” he said.
“They’ve made it clear they want him back involved, so how that pans out, we’ll have to wait and see.
“He may well go into their team, so if he does I’m sure he’ll be happy to go there and play under a new manager.”

“The best and most impressive of all the loanees all the others are easily replaceable and if we had a "fit for purpose" youth system need not have been signed in the first place”

“Thanks Nathan, hope to see you back at Town. We are a bigger club that Fleetwood and in 6 months time we'll be in the same division but we'll have more potential.
