Natural gifts + lots of work = success for Roxanne
A GIFTED student has wowed teachers by passing her AS level maths two years early.
Roxanne Conlon (15), a pupil at Hereford Technology School, passed the exam, traditionally taken at the age of 17, with flying colours in January.

Time for a smile from Roxanne, who has gained top marks in her Maths AS exam, despite taking it two years earlier than normal.
The Year 11 pupil was astonished to find she had passed each of the three modules with the highest grades possible.
"I was so proud – I could not believe I got all As in the three modules," she said.
"I have worked so hard to sit the exam this early. I have been staying behind after school every Friday for extra lessons which takes a lot of dedication.
"People usually study for their AS over a year but I have crammed it into just six months and that is on top of all of my usual subjects."
Roxanne, who passed her maths GCSE at just 13, will continue to complete the full A-level exam in June.
"I think I enjoy maths because I find it very easy. I find it very straight forward and it just comes naturally to me. All of the maths teachers have been so supportive."
Andy Allard, Hereford's head of mathematics said Roxanne's talent was recognised when she joined the school in Year Seven.
"Roxanne is the most gifted student I have ever taught," he said.
"She is so dedicated to her studies and is extremely popular with other pupils – she is a great all-rounder." Roxanne's mum, Nicola, is extremely proud of her daughter's achievements.
She said: "I am very proud of her. She has put so much dedication and effort into her work.
"She has far surpassed my maths skills. It is wonderful she has stuck with her studies. She is a real inspiration."
But despite her mathematics skills Roxanne hopes to be a linguist in the future.
"Languages are my favourite subject and I hope to study French and German when I go to Franklin College next year," she said.
