“The people who voted in the two brain dead clowns Shaw and Burnett should hang there heads in shame then get them out as soon as possible or get them taken away by the men in white coats”

    “"Dear Cllr Burnett

I will not be able to give my comments on March 6th as I will be at work, so I will make them here (the printable ones at least)

Thanks for the nominal effort to find out my opinion - as if you care what it is!

    1. Build the pool in Scartho Road

    2. Save money by renovating Scartho Road

    3. Make it bigger than 25metres

    4. Include a diving area

Labour people visit my house at the next election asking for my vote at your own risk

I would send my comments to the council, but there is no facility to do it (What a surprise!)"”

“Voxpax, your comments are right, the Council has lost the plot. I don't believe that all of the Labour group are bad but I do wonder why those who aren't still continue to tow the party line as laid down by the fat controller, rather than standing up for the good of the town and putting the views of the people who elected them to represent them first. Do none of them have the backbone to stand against the dictatorship that is Councillors Shaw, Burnett and Wheatley? Those 3 should definitely face a vote of no confidence. I have been a Labour voter my whole life but come the next Council elections my cross will be going in a different box, this is the most incompetent council I have ever seen.”

“Once again the Council attempt to 'pull the wool over the eyes' of the electorate. The actual article in the Telegraph states the times that the plans are to be available to view. They will be on show for approx 4 hours - 2 at Scartho, 2 at Cromwell Road - during the daytime when most council tax payers are at work and unable to pop along at look them.”

“the council as lost the plot as they can waste money on swimming pools when we have one in cleethorpes but they can take a service away from family's with a disability. they make me laugh so much!!!”

“This council has seriously lost the plot.
This council has lost public consensus.
This council is not fit for purpose.
This council is despised and hated.
This council should face a vote of no confidence soonest.”

“Something really doesn't smell right about this. As others have mentioned is this a Balfour Beatty plan for a large and profitable housing development of the Scatho Baths site? There is a massive conflict of interest with Balfour Beatty which seems now to be seeping into political decisions.

A labour administration disenfranchising many local people who simply won't be able to use the pool on Cromwell Road, after the fantastic 2012 Olympics even more people want to swim.

Come clean NELC what's the real deal here or do we need to wait for a few years to see it all unfold?”

    “A correction of the Facts:
The decision has not been made – "Twice" as Councillor Burnett Suggests.
    1. Even the bias manufactured "Consultation" with framed questions went against the Councils proposal to build this pool, 64% of the votes cast were AGAINST the new pool. – Yet this Labour Council did not stop and reflect on this, instead this was interpreted as a YES vote.
    2. The Labour Group, has mislead the public on the "consultation" no members of the public were allowed to speak that the so called "Scrutiny" Panel.
    3. The so called "Scrutiny Panel" was held mid week during the day and not in the evening so allowing the wider public to attend as expressly promised by the Labour Leader and his Deputy.
    4. Most Importantly of all – The cost the refurbishment of the Scatho site has again been spun and misrepresented by the Labour Council the FACT is that the cost of the Scartho Pool refurbishment is £1.6 Million not the 25% inflated cost they regularly miss quote to the press of £2M. How do we know this ? The Save Scartho Baths group have the Council own leaked pool report! (As do the Grimsby Telegraph please print it!!)
One has to question why, these two labour councillors are so resolute to ignore the massive local public opinion that crosses the political divide and social spectrum that this decision is just plain wrong. There is no need or desire to build a new pool! This is not living in the past this is just good plain common sense, something quite lacking in the Labour Group Councillors. As local tax payers we simply do not want or Need to waste £8.6 Million on a pool that is not needed, in the wrong location and not fit for purpose.
How many thousands has the Labour council wasted on several 3D models ?
    Why no consultation ?
    Why no Scrutiny?
Why no publication of the reviews?
Why one bidder in the process?

Keep fighting! Save Scartho baths !”

“When will you ever learn ? Local people elect politicians at all levels who then set about doing exactly what they want for themselves and not the people who elected them. Time after time the local electorate repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Yet at the next election you will all put your crosses in boxes and vote for people that do not give a shot for what you want or need. You have no-one to blame but yourselves.”
