Newport to share with rugby teams
NEWPORT County have announced that they are to move to Rodney Parade – home of Newport Gwent Dragons and Newport Rugby Club – for next season.
Grimsby Town's Blue Square Bet Premier Rivals will move from their Spytty Park ground after agreeing a three-year-deal with the two rugby clubs.
It means that travelling Town fans will have a new venue to take in when the Mariners take the long trip to South Wales during the 2012/13 campaign.
Newport County chairman Chris Blight had previously labelled the Spytty Park pitch as 'not fit for purpose' and was delighted to seal a move to the 9000-capacity venue.
