This is Grimsby

Grimsby prepared for Sunday's FA Trophy final with a lacklustre display as they were beaten 1-0 at Nuneaton.

Boro had scored just two goals in their previous five games but flew out of the traps with Wesley York forcing James McKeown into a save after five minutes.

Kevin Wilkin's men continued to dominate their promotion-chasing opponents and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Andy Brown tucked away York's unselfish pull back.

Louis Moult was then twice denied by McKeown before half-time as the Mariners continued to struggle.

Brown had a good opportunity to bag his second of the evening 10 minutes into the second half but he scuffed his shot wide of the post.

Gavin Cowan then headed James Armson's free-kick into the arms of McKeown 12 minutes later as Grimsby showed no threat at the other end, succumbing to their fourth consecutive defeat.

    “To be honest John Tondeur very rarely says a good thing about Grimsby Town.Sorting out the problems with the team is'nt going to be easy while the managers keep swapping and changing..The same happened last year where we lost steam as the season went on...Its going to take something quite radical for the fans to have faith in a team that seems have no faith in themselves..”

    “Listened to John Tondeur on Humberside and even he said we were awful and couldnt muster one shot on target.

    No confidence;

    1.Left in the players,
    2.In the squad rotation system,
    3 In the Managers ability to inspire and motivate players,
    4.In the Managers 'route one' approach to football,
    5.In the unrealistic post match assessment by s N H.(we were poor on Saturday not ''OK'' )
    6.In a happy family trip to Wembley!”

    “Why have we got a central midfielder from a rival town( born there) on loan our form has dipped since he came, hes scored a winng own goal , his home town wenttop, all seems a bit iffy to me !
    The managers are playing to lose , they haveachieved their bonus, trip to wembley and it costs the club nothing unlike league status would, in ground improvemennts , etcetc. Its obvious were a non league club ad thats where we are staying ...........”

    “If we got Hatton out we would be left with wood playing every game, the right back options are poor. Yes he is a local lad and people like to see him do well but he has been scraping through the last two seasons and he just isn't the player he once was. A few other points why did the managers bring in Dougie Wilson, a defender in the centre of midfield rather than play him. Seems like a waste of the poor lads time bringing him to the club. On another note why on earth did we have Thomas on the bench, Marshall on the bench, Cook on the bench, Brodie (better than John-lewis) on the bench. Stop rotating as the players you bring in are not good enough. Settle for a play-off place managers? Lets not assume we are there. Sort This Out!!!”
