WHO in their right mind would want the Blackburn Rovers job at the moment?

Former Grimsby Town loanee Michael Appleton, now in charge at Blackpool, has emerged as Rovers' number one target to succeed sacked boss Henning Berg.

Out of the frying pan into the fire comes to mind.

After performing admirably, despite untold difficulties at Portsmouth, Appleton would have been hoping for a quieter life when he moved to the Seasiders.

But just over two months after taking the job at Bloomfield Road, Rovers' much maligned owners  asked for permission to speak to him about the vacant managerial hotseat at Ewood Park.

This approach was rejected, but in all seriousness, who would actually want the Rovers job?

Perhaps the Bollywood star who, inexplicably, was heavily linked with the job in the days after Berg's sacking.

After the goings on at the one-time Premier League winners over the last few years, he might yet be the only candidate left standing.

“Phil Brown will have applied he applies for every job.”
