Olympic Flame: Residents urged to turn out in force to cheer on torchbearers in our area
PEOPLE are being urged to turn out in force to cheer on our Olympic torchbearers.
The countdown to the London 2012 Games is well underway, as the Flame, lit at Temple of Hera in Ancient Olympia this week, makes its way to Britain.
The 70-day relay prior to the Games will begin at Land’s End on May 19, where three-time Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie will be the first of 8,000 torchbearers as it visits towns and cities throughout the country.
It will arrive in North East Lincolnshire on Tuesday, June 26, and leaves the day after, as reported, showcasing the borough’s landmarks, businesses and attractions.

“Do as your damn told.
Hit the streets, smile and wave your flags as our glorious leader rides past on his noddy train bearing the sacred firelighter.
To echo Des' sentiment, I wish the torchbearers all the best, but the incessant bleating of the fat controller and his puppet rag is just to much for me.
I'll give it a wide berth I think, but good luck to St Andrews church I hope you all have a wonderful day.”

“Sorry, which part of the list is "showcasing cutting edge technology"? Must have missed that.
Good luck to the torch bearers but they'll have to do it without me.”
