Student scoops Miss Grimsby crown
A BEAUTY queen has been crowned – with a trio of titles.
Jade Clay, 19, of Humberston, has been named Miss Grimsby and District as part of this year's Miss England competition.
Now the fashion photography student at the Grimsby Institute – who also won the public's vote in the contest and was awarded for raising the most money for charity out of all 10 contestants – will represent the area in this year's national semi-finals.
It is the third time Jade has entered the competition.
"I can't believe it," she said. "I can't stop smiling – my cheeks will be aching!

"This is a dream for me. If you want something, you have got to work for it."
As part of this year's competition, entrants had to wear an eco-friendly, recycled dress.
Jade, of Grimsby Road, said: "I made mine myself – it's a bed sheet and netting around the top I got from college."
As part of her submission, Jade raised more than £250 for the charity B-eat, which helps tackle eating disorders, by taking part in a skydive.
"It was amazing – and I'm going to do it again in August," she added.
Laura Coleman, the current Miss England, attended the regional ceremony and said Jade deserved to win.
Laura, 23, from Derby – whose mum and grandmother are former beauty queens – said: "I think everyone did really well. We have a nice bunch of girls and it's always hard to choose a winner.
"Jade was determined and she really put herself out there."
As for what may be in store for Jade if she wins the overall contest, Laura said: "It's amazing – I never thought that it would be me. I was very lucky.
"I have been travelling all over the world doing one thing or another. I will be sad to give up my crown."
The national semi-final – which will see Jade compete against 60 others – will take place on Monday, June 8, at the Champney's health and beauty resort, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
If she wins, she will be selected to compete in the Miss England Grand Final in the London Hilton Metropole, London, in July.
The final winner would go on to represent the count ry in the Miss World competition, which has a first prize of £100,000.
