Plans to change recycling routes to make service more efficient
DON'T let your summer stink!
The warmer weather has seen an influx of flies, so a series of tips have been issued to help you keep your trash tidy and fly free during the warmer weather.
-

A lot of bottle: Councillor Peter Burgess, pictured at Stallingborough Waste Disposal, says the changes will make the service more efficient.
It comes as North East Lincolnshire Council confirms it is making changes to recycling routes across the borough.
Letters have been sent out and are being sent to those affected by the change – which will be around 3/4 of residents in the area – although the frequency of collections will not change.
Check out today's Grimsby Telegraph for tips to keep your trash tidy and fly free in the heat.

“it all about the council trying to save money but how can they say they want to save money if they are getting the produts for free and making money from them and why not lay off the office staff in the main office or even get the councilers to take a PAY CUT WE ARE THE LOWEST PAYED BIN MEN IN THE COUNTRY for those who say we are useless should come and try the job for a week and say we are usless on average bin men walk atlest 15miles a day so lets see you do that.”

“i like to recycle but hate the triple boxes! would like an extra wheelie bin like other councils which you can mix certain items would also help my back and stop foxes looking in the tins or when its windy would stop the boxes blowing down the street ........”

“Frustrated council tax payer !! No not trying to bend any rules just want to recycle but they really dont seem to care at moody lane. I see people chucking things in the land fill skips that could be recycled. The staff there should do something about it.”

“I too received 2 letters about the recycling days altering, although actually 1 day will remain as it is! I would like to know why the letters had a return address of Radstock on the reverse of the envelope.Surely these could have been sent from this area by local people.”

“I also haven't had a DAY change, but look carefully at the dates on the back of the letter and you will probably have swapped to the opposite weeks.
I'm also not happy about the double envelopes, but I guess it's cheaper to send out two systematic letters than to send individualised letters to each property, that would be time and labour consuming - and of course be more costly to the tax payer!”

“Typical, this Burgess guy doesn't seem to know how to arganise a thing. Two letters both telling me the same thing. How wasteful? Or is he trying to help us create recycling.
Why not think about what the new strategy is going to be. THEN send one letter to the affected people telling them everything.
They clearly have not thought about this as we are now going to have our recycling/green wase taken away on the same day as the general waste. There is going to be chaos with bins everywhere!”

“I don't know about Traffic warden but I have never had any problems with the staff at Moody Lane. There are rules in place to stop businesses circumventing the waste disposal rules as it is a domestic recycling centre only. You weren't trying to bend the rules were you?”
