POLICE are urging motorists to take extra care after a woman was killed in a head-on crash at a notorious accident blackspot.

As reported on www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk, the woman – who has not been named, but is believed to be from the Skegness area – died at the scene of the crash on the A631 between Louth and Ludford yesterday.

Today Insp Jason Baxter of Lincolnshire Police who is leading the investigation said it was too early to speculate what had caused the crash.

However, he added the force was targeting drivers flouting the rules surrounding the Fatal Four – speeding, drink driving, using mobile phones when driving and not wearing seatbelts.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Lincolnshire Police witness hotline on (01522) 558855 quoting incident number 140 of August 23.
