Power cut affects 100 Grimsby properties
A POWER cut has affected 100 properties in Grimsby.
Electricians from YEDL are working to restore power, having been made aware of problems at about 11.30am.
The areas affected are Cleethorpe Road, Flour Square, Humber Street, King Edward Street, Prince Albert Gardens, Riby Street and Victoria Street North.
A spokesman for the firm said they hope power will be restored to all properties by 1.30pm.

“This may not seem much of a news item, but by this time next year - especially if we have a repeat of the last three harsh winters - I'd like to bet that power cuts will be such a regular occurrence that it will be making headlines every day as an outraged public demand to know what on earth is going on!
Fact is, because of the unsustainable costs of renewable energy (wind farms etc); the EU's swingeing carbon taxes and it's insistence on the closure of our nuclear power plants; the governments insane 'carbon emissions targets', and the volatile energy supply market - the power industries are facing massive problems of demand and supply .. the costs of which will inevitably be passed on to the consumer. Our bills are predicted to rise by over 60% in the next few years, which means that simply keeping warm in modern Britain may be beyond the reach of large chunks of the population.
This isn't funny.
Best start stocking up on candles and blankets .. you're going to need them!”
