Powerful Paviors conquer Rasen
FORTRESS Willingham Road could come to Market Rasen & Louth RUFC's aid right on cue after a defeat on the road in their opening league game of the season.
The Red and Greens will host Kettering on Saturday (3pm) looking to bounce back from a 25-5 defeat at Paviors in the Midlands One East Division last weekend.
After two pre-season friendlies against weaker opposition, Paviors set the standard Rasen will have to handle to protect their Midlands One status.
The hosts started well with some powerful running leading to two converted penalties.

Both teams went close with catch-and-drive runs that were halted by the referee, who spotted infringements.
Rasen winger Peter Everton made a superb tackle when a Paviors counter-attack appeared certain to score.
Good defending from Rasen centre George Edell, and a helping hand from Everton, managed to keep out another great chance for the hosts early in the second half.
But Paviors did bag the opening try when their scrum-half burst through the blind-side and teed up an overlapping winger to score.
Rasen were rocked when, after Meehal Grint missed a kick to touch, the hosts launched a counter-attack that resulted in a try close to the posts, setting up a simple conversion.
A Paviors' centre was sent to the sin bin for a late challenge and, from the resulting catch and drive off the penalty, prop Chris Starling was driven over the line.
Hopes of a Rasen fight-back were put to bed, however, when Paviors' scrum-half touched down after an impressive solo run before a successful conversion rounded off the scoring.
