ALL GP practices in North East Lincolnshire will adopt the new guidelines.

Graham Wilde, director of strategy and partnerships at the Care Trust Plus, said: "Firstly, I repeat our deepest condolences to the family of the late Miss Owen.

"As was highlighted by the coroner, the Trust has already undertaken a comprehensive review of the care and treatment afforded to Miss Owen and its recommendations have been fully endorsed by the Trust Board.

"We will further review the incident in the light of the completion of the inquest, however, several key actions have already been progressed in the interim period."

These include a comprehensive review of the local anxiety and depression care pathways in line with national guidance.

A review of the evidence-based utilisation of drugs such as librium, known as anxiolytics and hypnotics, has taken place.

The service has moved to a case supervision which has increased the numbers of mental health staff available to support GP practices.

And there are plans to place further mental health teams into the community.
