A HEALTHY diet means knowing that what you put on your plate is right for you.

And that's not necessarily all about five-a-day or one-size-fits-all diet sheets. It's about knowing your nutritional needs.

This is where Telegraph Slimmers' nutritionist Emma Lynn comes in.

Emma – who also runs diet advice website www.thedietangel.co.uk – has a masters degree in medical science (human nutrition) from the University of Sheffield.

She is an associate member of the Nutrition Society's Register Of Nutritionists and holds professional development certificates in subjects ranging from food allergy and intolerance to weight loss management and consulting.

She is also the joint owner of Aqua Viva Health, on Abbeygate.

She is looking forward to helping all the Telegraph Slimmers with any dietary questions they might have or advice they might seek.

"I have met the five Telegraph Slimmers' champions already, and they were all very enthusiastic and motivated," she said.

Emma also welcomed the arrival of the Telegraph Slimmers website, www.telegraphslimmers.co.uk, which she believes will be a success.

"A support network really helps," she said.

"When people stop getting support, they'll put any weight they have lost back on.

"The website is a constant resource – and it's a local initiative, so people know it's for them."

Emma's expert advice will be tailored to every Telegraph Slimmers' personal needs.

"It's not just diet that matters, it's lifestyle, too," she said.

"Two different people can have completely different dietary requirements.

"One size diets definitely do not fit all."

All Telegraph Slimmers can attend free weigh-in sessions at Aqua Viva Health, Abbeygate between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Tuesdays.

As an added incentive, Emma will offer a food intolerance test to Telegraph Slimmers at £75, rather than the usual £89. This includes the test and follow-up advice.
