Public meeting to discuss 433% rise to cost of residential parking permits
ANGRY residents will meet tomorrow to discuss the planned 433 per cent rise in the cost of residential parking permits.
As reported, drivers have condemned North East Lincolnshire Council’s plans, which would see the cost of a permit rise from £15 to £80 per year for one permit and £15 to £100 for a permit for a second car.
They have also dismissed the alternative – scrapping permit parking unless 70 per cent of residents agree to the price hike – as “unworkable”.
The meeting of the Park Ward Action Group will be held at St Augustine’s Church, Legsby Avenue, from 6pm.

“Wrangler,
You seem to have gone quiet and 'dropped out' on this one now.
Perhaps the "penny has dropped" and you now understand my posts, as other seem to have.”

“Item 6.3, from page 5 of the report:
6.3 Resident permits will only be issued to permanent residents within the area covered by the scheme. Residents who may not be on the electoral register will be required to provide other proof of residency, such as a mortgage statement or tenancy agreement, and a decision will be made at the discretion of the issuing authority. In order to obtain a permit, the vehicle registration document must correspond to the resident's address The amount of private off street parking at an address will have a direct impact on eligibility for permits.
NELC have now adapted a discriminatory policy. If you're not on the electoral register you will be discriminated against over those who are. The decision, (whether or not to issue resident permits) will be made at the discretion of the issuing authority, only after submitting other forms of I.D.
Discrimination then against people wanting to protect themselves from privacy intruder companies –those firms that have access to our details through the electoral register and for which NELC are happy to profit from by selling.”

“this has been signed off by coucilor wheatly
as per the minutes of the portfolio holder meeting dated july 2012
approximately half of full residents permits have not been renewed
this has left a number of schemes that could either be considered for
revocation or have a reduced enforcement presence
due to the very low uptake of permits
quote
so even if a household pays the £180 for two cars this councilor is saying
that they may not even enforce the parking restictions
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING MAN
we will rob you blind to pay for wardens to patrol the town center
but may or may not visit your street
please request a copy of this report its hilarious a total contrediction to everything there using as an arguement”

“Wrangler,
Read my last line in my third para again. what do you mean, 6pm to 8pm? do you mean, 6pm to 8AM?
NO permit will give 24hr "protected parking".
The permits are to stop shoppers, shop and office workers, etc from parking in the street/road for long periods of time, or even 'all day'.
After the 'end time' anyone can park anywhere and for any length of time, so then the permits do not apply and are no good after that time. Doe's that answer your question, Kimjun/Percy?”

“RoadWorker,
I might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick, but I think it works like this:
1st permit per household = £80
2nd permit per household = £100
i.e., £180 for two, not £100
It seems to work contrary to normal BOGOF marketing principles.”
