'Quagmire defeat won't get us down', says Grimsby Borough boss
JOINT boss Nigel Fanthorpe is focusing on the positives after a frustrating away defeat for Grimsby Borough.
The Wilderness Boys went down 3-1 at Hallam on a rain-sodden pitch on Tuesday night – their third consecutive defeat in the Northern Counties East League Division One.

Borough have this weekend off as they look to recharge the batteries ahead of next Saturday's home tie against Clipstone Welfare.

"They caused problems for a lot of teams in the division, but we weren't outplayed – they didn't batter us.
"We created plenty of chances, but their goalkeeper had an excellent evening.
"And Kieran Wressle, who is 18, made his debut at centre-half and put in a good performance against Aaron Moxam, who has been banging in a few for Hallam."
Fanthorpe said Borough will return to training, looking to build on the positives.
Some players will top up their match fitness by appearing for Grimsby Borough Reserves when they visit Lincoln United Reserves in the Lincolnshire League tomorrow.
But he feels they are reflecting on a match that shouldn't have been played.
Torrential rain throughout the match at Hallam reduced their sloping pitch to a "quagmire", and he was unhappy that the pitch was passed fit to play on earlier in the day – well ahead of the forecasted heavy showers in the evening.
"When we arrived there was surface water in the centre circle and in the goalmouth at the bottom of the slope," said Fanthorpe.
"The pitch was deemed fit to play on at lunch-time, but that was a big difference to how it was in the evening.
"We were still travelling to the ground early in the game – they scored twice inside 15 minutes.
"But we pulled one back (through Jake Thompson) on the stroke of half-time and were well in it from then on.
"After Steve Davis was harshly sent off, though, we ran out of gas in the second half."
