Razor-sharp wit on its way after pub's refit
THE Seven Seas Inn pub in Scartho will be welcoming a special guest next month – former professional footballer Neil "Razor" Ruddock.
The pub is well-known for hosting sportsmen and women, having previously hosted former England and Arsenal player Paul Merson.

Shaun said: "We've had several talks at the pub and they have all gone down a storm, especially the Paul Merson one.
"Neil is probably the most famous person we will have had because he has recently been on Celebrity Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.
"I've been to one of his events before and he is a fantastic speaker and we are hoping for a great turnout.
"There will also be a buffet available at the event."
Neil, who has played for Southampton, Liverpool, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur, appeared as a housemate on this year's Celebrity Big Brother, where he finished in fifth place.
Lease-owners of the pub, Rachael and Mark Flint, are currently refurbishing the pub for two weeks. It will have a new carpet and up-to-date decor.
Rachael, who has been co-lease-owner for 18 months, said: "We are changing the look of the pub and totally modernising it.
"We are having new carpets and we will put divides in so it isn't one vast space. There will also be dividing doors to the function room.
"It will give it a fresh look because it was a little bit outdated before."
The pub, which currently doesn't serve food, is planning to offer a carvery by autumn.
"We are having a kitchen put in and we plan to start doing our own carvery, not with a big company," added Rachel.
"I don't think the pub has ever really done food, apart from fish and chips on a Friday, so this will be something different."
Tickets for the event with Neil Ruddock cost £25, including a buffet. It starts at 7.30pm. To book, call Shaun on 07899 923267 or Simon on 07413 840670.
