Reminder on asthma to children
HEALTH experts at NHS Yorkshire and the Humber are urging children who have asthma not to forget to take their preventative medication during the summer holidays.
When returning to school, children can be exposed to infection, which means failing to take their medication during the break can increase their risk of needing medical help in September.
Spokeswoman Jean Hawkins said: "Preventative medicines help children to keep their asthma symptoms at a controlled level. "Forgetting to take them can leave a child open to infection which can then make their asthma worse.
"We want children to enjoy their summer holidays, get out and about and get some exercise, but it is important to remember the little things like taking medication, so they can enjoy the return to school as well."
