His journey will take place over six days, starting in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, to Land's End and then to John O'Groats, before coming all the way back again.
The 29-year-old, who is one of six men tackling the challenge, said: "I lost my dad Peter four years ago to cancer, and everyone else in the group has also been affected in some way.
"We are doing the ride because it is something we can do and raise money at the same time.
"We are not going on motorways and will be sticking to A and B roads to make it a bit harder.
"Already, people have donated places for us to stay while we are out on the road. We want to get as many people involved as possible and although we are going to enjoy the trip it is going to be for a great cause, too.
"We hope the weather holds out for us. We'll still go if it rains, but not if it snows!"
The journey will begin on Easter Monday, April 9.
Bridget Rodgers, of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "It was a real pleasure speaking with Phillip and hearing all about his motorbike challenge – 2,000 miles in just six days!
"I cannot thank him and his friends enough for the hard work and determination they are showing in making this a huge success.
"The money they raise will certainly make a real difference to helping patients and their families living with cancer. I do hope they manage to have some fun at the same time.
"Cancer is the toughest fight most of us will ever face.
"Macmillan Cancer Support is here to make sure that when that time comes you don't have to go through it alone.
"We are the nurses and therapists helping people through treatment, the experts on the end of the phone and the advisers letting people know their rights and entitlements.
"It is not only important that volunteers like Phillip give up their time freely to raise funds to support Macmillan but essential in us being able to deliver the service needed by patients and their families living with cancer."
