NEW Waltham's Station Road was closed by Humberside Police today for a short while to carry out a reconstruction of a fatal collision.

The stretch of road linking New Waltham and Waltham was closed at the A16 roundabout near to Tollbar Academy and at the Scartho Road roundabout in Waltham.

Police crash investigators reconstructed the final movements of the Vauxhall Corsa driven by a 41-year-old woman who was dropping off a student at the academy around 9am on Friday November 30.

The car collided with  motorcycle ridden by 27-year-old security guard Daniel Eastwood, who suffered fatal injuries.

“I believe a number of factors played up to the final moment of the impact....She may have been distracted momentarily like someone stated on here...she may have also had to look at crossing kids before she committed to turning into the school(we all know kids dont look properly sometimes or think its funny to mess about playing dare...happens all the time down Carr lane its a matter of time :-(. She may have stalled the vehicle unabling to get out of the way which originally she thought had time to if she didnt stall...The rider like also someone stated may have been camouflaged with the background and no lights on/dark clothing etc...All bikers should ride with lights on its a rule!...In other words theres no finger to blame to be honest...a tragic accident.. We may never know fully but hope the family can find some kind of comfort knowing how their family member died. RIP Danny”

“I see my asking about Stubies post being removed has also gone. All these removals don't help in following the thread. Grey out the offensive bit, if any and leave the original posters name, time in place would help.”

“@Mat_the-Hat - Well said Sir. Totally agree with all you have written. My thoughts too are with both families involved.”

“The evidence suggests that the driver was at fault, but before we condemn just take a moment to think 'there but for the grace go I.' How many of us have had a lapse of concentration or a moment of carelessness whilst driving? I would guess every single person who ever got behind a wheel. Mostly, we get away with it. In this case the result was a young man's death and I am guessing that this lady and her family have gone through as much anguish since Nov 30th as the family of the young man who died. She will have this on her mind for the rest of her life, whatever the outcome of the inquest. I knew Danny, I don't know the lady involved but I am sure she never set out to kill anyone that morning. Thoughts go out to both families.”

“The circumstances must be unclear if they are doing a reconstruction. I hope they find out the truth for the gentleman's family.”

    “Echo your comments Stubie.

However, can I stress to the bikers to think for themselves and take a moment to consider what they are doing has consequences, just as the drivers of cars.

It is easy to condemn after the fact. (I know nothing about the circumstances in this case, so my comments are general).

I agree that the I didn't see him line does not work, but bikers need to look too, and more importantly make themselves visible! Dark bikes dark clothing, no lights, just think how hard that is to see on a grey morning.”

“With you on that Stubie. Nice to hear accident investigators are looking into this seriously. How they can reconstruct it without the actual vehicles involved at the time and both riders and drivers state of mind is beyond me. When is the next MAG meet at the Spiders that you will attend. I have this idea of popping down and saying hello. Long time since I've been in there. If Rita is still around please pass my love on to her, Dave and dog, she will know who I am.”

“As the car driver was turning, surely she should have given way to oncoming traffic.???”
