CROWS Nest first beat Norfolk Line by 74 runs in Division Five of the Grimsby and District Midweek Cricket League.

Crow's Nest batted first and made a blistering 145 for one from their 16 overs.

Paul Holmes top-scored with a near-flawless 79 not out and Crow's captain Lewis MacDonald scored a typically aggressive 59 before finally departing in the penultimate over.

In reply, the loss of early wickets set the tone for the rest of the innings with Arundel (28) and Easton (13) showing some spirited middle order resistance in the face of some disciplined bowling.

James Rock was the star of the show as he claimed four wickets in four balls on his way to exceptional figures of five wickets for six runs off four overs.

Norfolk Line were all out for 71.
