THE first running of a novel new half marathon provided runners with a test of strength and stamina.

The Gruesome Twosome took in a tough, undulating 13.1-mile course, starting and finishing in the village of Swallow.

Entrants competed in teams of two, with both runners required to cross the line for the time to count.

First back were the duo of Julian Moorhouse and Gavin Mann in one hour, 20 minutes and 26 seconds.
