Sansom and Smith pick up victories

TWENTY-six seniors took part in a Stableford competition at Sandilands, with countback separating those with the top scores.

Division A was won by Joe Sansom, with 40 points, ahead of Bill Webb on countback.

Dave Smith came third with 38 points.

Bert Clements won Division B with 40 points, which was one better than second-placed Geoff Barton.

Phil Wilde finished in third with 37 points.

Earlier, 18 seniors played in another Stableford competition, despite freezing weather.

The winner was Smith, with 36 points.

Geoff Barton came second, also carding 36 points, but beaten on back-nine countback.

Tony Seward came third with 35 points.
