Santos close gap at top of Cue World Summer Pool League
CLEE Social Santos took the chance to close the gap at the top of the Cue World Summer Pool League.
With league leaders Matrix Reloaded postponing their match this week, second-placed Santos travelled to play Lucarly's Skuttlerz, writes JIm Litchfield.

They did the business went away with an 8-4 win.
The highlight of the night was Chris Scott's eight-ball clearance from the break.
Third-placed Taxi 242424 entertained the Jerryhatricks.
It was a close match throughout, the home side claiming both points with the final frame, earning a 7-5 win.
Buddies All Stars went to play Clee Cons and, after going two frames up, they went into the interval 4-2 down. But with Cons' last player failing to turn up, and the available games being shared at 2-2, the visitors were awarded a point in a 6-6 draw.
Standard All Stars played host to Jubilee Potters. Getting the better of both sections the home side got an 8-4 win.
It started off as a close match in Division One Wednesday, at Fiddler, when both sides shared the honours at 3-3 at the interval.
Then their guests, Country Cabs, got into gear.
They took the first five of the second half claiming both points with an 8-4 win.
Kingsway travelled to play at the Crosland Club, and tore into a five frame lead without reply
G Buckle stopped the rot for the home side and the second half was shared to give them an 8-4 victory.
Getting the better of both sections Cambridge beat their visitors, Smugglers, 8-4.
Clee Home Guard Cavaliers went to play Buddies II. The home side got the rub and went into the interval 4-2 ahead.
This inspired their visitors, who took the opening five frames after the break for a 7-5 win.
The County went 4-2 up at home to Buffalo Bills. The second half was shared, giving them both points with a 7-5 win.
An eight-ball clearance in the second frame for B Scott of Smokers Scorpions in Division Two helped them go 5-1 up by the break when they travelled to play Birds Eye Slammers.
But the home side hit back, taking all frames in the second half for a 7-5 win.
Also getting a 7-5 win were Cue Comets, at Clee Social Nutters, after getting the better of the first section and sharing the second.
The other two results ended as draws, Empire Whack Attacks at Dishonest Lawyer, in a closely fought contest, and Casa B on their travels to No1 A.
After going 4-2 up, the home side replied by the same score to level.
Win Lose Plenty Booze of, Division Three, took the opening two frames when they played host to The No Standards.
Their visitors responded with the next two, pulling level, but that was as good as it got, the home side took the rest for a 10-2 reversal from the first game of the season.
Matrix 2.0 went into a four-frame lead without reply when they entertained Freemans Arms.
The visitors got the next two made it 4-2 at the interval, Matrix dropping just one more frame earned themselves both points with a 9-3 win.
It looked like it was going to be a close match when Empire Strikes Back played host to Royal Oak (HLC) as it was all square at the interval.
But the visitors stepped up a gear in the second half taking all but one for an 8-4 win.
Nunsthorpe Tavern went into the break 4-2 ahead at Dee2, the home side replied taking the first four going into the lead for the first time, assuring themselves at least a point,
That's just what they got as the Tavern got the last two for a 6-6 draw.
Lucarly's Renegades, of Division One Tuesday, travelled to play Kingsway, and went away with a 10-2 win taking all but one frame in each half.
Both A. Dixon and Steve Donner hit eight-ball clearances for the visitors.
Mick Hubbard opened the scoring for Cottees when they went to play Fardel Shipping, but that was as good as it got as the home side cruised to an 11-1 win taking the rest, both Nige Emmerson and Paul Clark getting eight ballers.
S. Allett won both his frames for Bluestone when they entertained league leaders Cromwell, his first the opener with an eight-ball clearance, but this didn't stop their visitors, stamping their authority with a 9-3 win.
Stationeers travelled to play Jubilee Gigolos, and after a close fought contest, claimed both points with the final frame with a 7-5 win.
Swashbuckle Pirates of Division Two, bounced back from their shock defeat from last week, with a 10-2 pounding of their close rivals and visitors Spiders Web, dropping just one frame in each section. After a poor start to the season Crackpots are on the move, this time at Sunnyside B, getting the better of the first section, Donna Scales whitewashing her opponent, then taking all but one in the second half, to S. Wall his second of the night, the visitors went away 9-3 victors. Blundell Beatles went into the interval 4-2 up when they played host to Keelby Kings A, the second half being shared gave them a 7-5 win. High flyers Sunnyside A, travelled to Lucarlys to play Fiddler B, it was tight in the first half being level at 3-3, Sunnyside then stepped up a gear dropping just one frame giving them an 8-4 win. Matrix Misfits won by the same score when they entertained Fishermans, netting all but two frames in each half.
Matrix Mints of Division Three, went to play West Marsh A, and after getting the better of the first section they went into the interval 4-2 ahead.
S. Gaynard opened the scoring in the second half with an eight-ball clearance for the home side but that was as good as it got as the visitors took the rest for a 9-3 win.
Clee Social Aces travelled to play a depleted Royal Oak B, the home side only having five players, and went away with an 8-4 win.
Tap & Spile turned up the heat when they entertained Hope & Anchor A beating them 10-2, T. Benn getting both his frames saved the whitewash for the visitors.
Mayflower Pilgrims, sailed to an 8-4 win when they played host to Seven Seas after getting the better of both halves.
Another team to win 8-4 were Station Hotel at RAOB they also got the better of both sections.
The two top teams of Division Four met at the Hainton Club when the Knumbskulls played host to Birds Eye Hotshots.
The home side were 4-1 up when Jamie Cressey got an eight-ball clearance from the break in the sixth frame for the visitors, making it 4-2 at the interval by the tenth frame the home side were 7-3 ahead, then K White pulled one back getting an eight baller in the eleventh, not to be outdone, P Wardle ended the night with one for the home side giving them an 8-4 win.
West Marsh B tore into a five-frame lead without reply at Gunners Gonners.
D. Hewson took the final frame of the night as well stopping the rot for the home side. Apart from one other frame, the visitors took the rest for a 9-3 win.
The big results keep on coming and it was 10-2 for the Emmy Army when they entertained Casa Cups, dropping just one frame in each section.
Buddies One got the same result when they travelled to play HASS, taking all but the two last frames of the first half and winning the rest.
