HOW sad that the people protesting outside the Jungle Zoo had nothing better to do at Easter.

Jungle Zoo is small, clean and well-run and the animals are well cared for. My grandchildren and I enjoy regular visits there.

In the wild, animals are being killed and hunted to extinction and the forests are being destroyed at an alarming rate. If it was not for zoos, a lot would be lost forever.

It's not always an ideal world for animals in the wild, despite what some seem to think.

“In reply to Mario and others who may be misled in the same way. I am aware of the extinction of animals in the wild and the hunting that takes place. It is sad that animals are killed and their babies are then taken and sold to zoos and circuses. It all starts there. A cappuchin was not bred in Weelsby Woods for example. They are bred for money and there is a need for people to take a look at such as Born Free Foundation and Captive Animals Protection Society and Animals Aid. The list goes on. It is those charities that are doing there best and achieved so much when it comes to saving animals from extinction. So please find the facts. If an animal is sadly put in a zoo then it should at least follow the zoo legislation and jungle zoo has not done that. The council are to blame for allowing this to be neglected and they are now facing the neglect towards the animals which they allowed to continue. It is a myth that the law will not allow animals to suffer in this day and age. Much needs doing and if you are happy to see the animals suffering from neglect then there is nothing we can do except help the animals by supporting them and not listening to the excuses made by those who own them. It is a shame that some people enjoyed Easter by taking pleasure seeing animals suffer.”
