Scanners for customers point the way forward at store
CLEETHORPES Tesco now has 90 handheld scanners for customers to use whilst shopping.
It is the first Tesco in the area to roll out the service, with the nearest store being Sheffield.
Carl Whiteley, deputy manager, said: "I think this an easier way to shop and it is very simple to use.
"Customers can pack as they go along and for those who are money-conscious it totals up the list.

"I believe this is the way forward and customers enjoy new technology.
"Before Christmas we plan to expand the handheld scanners fleet up to 160 – we feel privileged to be the first store in the area to have them."
One of the first customers to use the handheld scanners was Zoe Colley, from Cleethorpes.
She said: "I think it's a great idea because you can pack whilst you shop and it will save me a lot of time because I do a big shop.
"It seems easy to use and simple which is important."
