Video: Scheme trialling weekly recycling collections to be launched in North East Lincolnshire
WEEKLY recycling collections will be launched in North East Lincolnshire later this month.
The new service, which will also include kerbside plastic and cardboard collections, will be piloted in parts of Laceby from Monday, March 18, with a view to it being rolled out across the borough, which currently has fortnightly collections.

FILM STARS! Key Stage 1 pupils from Coomb Briggs, Laceby Acres and Enfield primary schools have joined together to make a recycling dvd, with the help of Eastcoast Pictures and North East Lincolnshire Council’s Recycling team.
The scheme has been made possible due to a £3.59 million grant from central government aimed at increasing recycling, as reported.
Some of the funding has been used to fund four waste service advisers, who will talk directly to residents to ensure that all households make use of the new service.

The trial will help the council to determine how many more collection vehicles and resources will be needed before the service can be offered to all residents later this year.
Councillor Peter Wheatley, portfolio holder for environment and regeneration, said: "We are looking forward to extending our recycling service and the trial in Laceby is only the start of this.
"When this service is rolled out across the borough we will be offering one of the best recycling collection services in the country."
Letters are being delivered to all homes taking part in the trial and staff from North East Lincolnshire Council will be visiting residents to explain how the new service will operate.

Meanwhile, a new DVD starring local schoolchildren is being handed out to primary schools to promote recycling.
The Little Tinkers is a series of 15-minute puppet shows showing how everyday objects can be reused or recycled.
The videos have been produced by Eastcoast Pictures with support from the council's recycling team, and star pupils from Coomb Briggs, Laceby Acres and Enfield Primary Schools, New Waltham.
Julia Thompson, executive producer of Eastcoast Pictures, said: "We had so much fun creating these films and the initial response from the schools involved has been amazing,
"They really help to encourage learning through play."
