School head clocked speeding at 103mph on the motorway as he was running late
CAISTOR Grammar School headmaster Roger Hale has been fined £500 after being caught driving at 103mph on a motorway.
He was late for a meeting when he was clocked driving "extremely fast" on the M180, a court heard.

Caistor Grammar School head teacher Roger Hale.
Hale, 49, of Grimsby, admitted breaking a 70mph speed limit on the motorway on March 13.
He was caught after a police officer using hand-held equipment spotted him driving in the outside lane between junctions four and five westbound at Wrawby at 11.25am. Hale later told the officer: "I'm very sorry, officer. I didn't realise I was going that fast."
Andrew Havery, mitigating, said father-of-two Hale had a cleaning driving licence and passed his test in August 1985. He co-operated with the police and had shown clear remorse at the roadside.
Hale had come to court by train in case the magistrates banned him from driving.
"He is a decent, hard-working member of society who accepts he ought to have known better," added Mr Havery.
Hale was spared a driving ban but was given six penalty points on his licence. He was ordered to pay £40 costs and a Government-imposed £15 victims' surcharge.
The magistrates told Hale: "We agree that 103mph is extremely fast."

“Mr Hale is a lovely man, very helpful and good for the community he works. We all speed at times, sadly he was caught. I would be very pleased to see him as a taxi driver when he retires, at least you would get to your location quickly.”

"As for knocked off mirrors, the owner contacts the insurers, they paid out."
That's not true, most people will not claim unless they have a protected no claims bonus and fully comp insurance.
In my experence it took 4 years of no claims on third party insurance before I could switch to protected no claims and fully comp. During that time my car was damaged 8 times.”
