School head clocked speeding at 103mph on the motorway as he was running late
CAISTOR Grammar School headmaster Roger Hale has been fined £500 after being caught driving at 103mph on a motorway.
He was late for a meeting when he was clocked driving "extremely fast" on the M180, a court heard.

Caistor Grammar School head teacher Roger Hale.
Hale, 49, of Grimsby, admitted breaking a 70mph speed limit on the motorway on March 13.
He was caught after a police officer using hand-held equipment spotted him driving in the outside lane between junctions four and five westbound at Wrawby at 11.25am. Hale later told the officer: "I'm very sorry, officer. I didn't realise I was going that fast."
Andrew Havery, mitigating, said father-of-two Hale had a cleaning driving licence and passed his test in August 1985. He co-operated with the police and had shown clear remorse at the roadside.
Hale had come to court by train in case the magistrates banned him from driving.
"He is a decent, hard-working member of society who accepts he ought to have known better," added Mr Havery.
Hale was spared a driving ban but was given six penalty points on his licence. He was ordered to pay £40 costs and a Government-imposed £15 victims' surcharge.
The magistrates told Hale: "We agree that 103mph is extremely fast."

“Mr Hale is a lovely man, very helpful and good for the community he works. We all speed at times, sadly he was caught. I would be very pleased to see him as a taxi driver when he retires, at least you would get to your location quickly.”

"As for knocked off mirrors, the owner contacts the insurers, they paid out."
That's not true, most people will not claim unless they have a protected no claims bonus and fully comp insurance.
In my experence it took 4 years of no claims on third party insurance before I could switch to protected no claims and fully comp. During that time my car was damaged 8 times.”

“I work shifts,745. I detest them. It is part of the job. They do awful things to me,including dreadful things to my "bodyclock", You may travel to foreign climes. Time changes, say to New York? Five hours. I have tried. No problem for a couple of weeks.California? Eight hours. It is strange trying to be romantic at what is their teatime when my body considers it 3am. I do that all the time now.....”

“I thought if you did over 100mph it's a ban? Also clocked at 103mph you know he was doing over that as you always slam on when you see a cop. Think I'll print this story incase I get pulled over.”

“if someone gets knocked over - not listed. Doesn't sound right, it gets listed alright and splashed about in the papers.
As for knocked off mirrors, the owner contacts the insurers, they paid out. The claim goes the insurers it goes on the big Insurers master database they all share. The database is available to the Whitehall mandarins to work out whatever and the insurers acturists get a pretty good idea whats what, they need to be since it costs the insurers money and sets the price of premiums. The mandarins have stats on everything, there's no escaping the database, the state or private bailiffs will find you and give you loads of hass whether the thing is right or wrong.
Mr Hale will now be on it too and he'll be punished twice paying more in premiums for several years.
As for the statement that the police cannot prove speeding. This is wrong. The Independent or Guardian wouldn't publish something so wrong. And the above story here proves the statement is wrong. Unless you know all about lasers and can prove that taking speed measurements with a handheld laser gun is inaccurate. A man from Scunthorpe who got done on the M180 Eastbound Carriageway did use technical defence and succeeded.
It is the opposite that is true. ACPO even said so themselves. Speeding is the easiest sure fire way to convict a driver of a traffic offence, it just needs a speed camera. It is Driving Without Due Care and Attention which is harder to prosecute which is why we see less and less prosecutions for this and more and more (like 2 million) in speeding prosecutions. Again, previous comments from other readers have wrote in and noticed this.
I dare say hoodie baseball cap wearing boy racer types with their customised cars with oversized loudspeakers and exhausts will watch out on M180 junctions 4 & 5 by logging it in their satnav. They never get done.”
